Our first trip to Odessa was a quick one. I went to help take care of The Boys (Beau and Ossie), while my mom and Tom were out of town. It was our first trip without Lance and one heck of a challenge for Mommy. Luckily, Beau and Ossie were huge helpers. Beau became a pro at bottle making, and Ossie always knows just what to do to cheer up Emma. Thanks so much, boys. I couldn't have done it without you!
In order to get back home, Lance met us in Abilene. From there, we went straight up to Mustang, Oklahoma. This is where we always celebrate the 4th of July. It was a very quick trip for Lance, who had to be back to work on Monday. Emma and I stayed a couple of extra days. It was a great trip, except Emma got sick on Tuesday. :( Considering how sick she was, she was still in pretty good spirits. She is such a good baby. Even though I love spending time with family, I was ready to get my sick baby home and we were really missing Daddy.
We took Emma to the doctor that next Monday, because she still wasn't feeling great. The doctor called two days ago to let me know she had Salmonella. We don't know how/where she got it. They said they've seen more cases than usual. They also said they don't treat it, we just have to wait for it to pass through. I would say it's about 98% gone. I am just glad the worst of it's over and my sweet Emma is finally feeling better.
In the midst of going to the doctor and receiving results, we made our second trip to Odessa. This time we had Daddy in tow. We headed West to celebrate GG and Pampaw's birthdays. We had a nice, intimate breakfast for GG on Saturday morning. That evening, we had a big, delicious dinner to celebrate Pampaw's birthday. It was great to have everyone together to celebrate.

Even though our trips are often quick, it just reminds me that it's the quality of time spent, not the quantity, that's most important.
